The Aldergrove 1922 Royal Canadian Army Cadets held their seventh annual bottle drive at the legion branch on Feb. 15.
While some activities for the cadets are covered through other funds, cadet support committee chair Shawna Winter said they heavily rely on donations.
A total of $520 was raised, a couple hundred short of last year's $800, but Winter said the cadets still had a lot of fun.
"The cadets enjoy doing [fundraisers] and it's great to get out in the community and be seen," she told The Star.
"We even had inquiries about joining cadets."
Some events held for the cadets thanks to donations include pizza nights, barbecues, and the end of year activities like Wild Play or bowling, she added.
Those who couldn鈥檛 make it to the drive can still make bottle donations for the cadets at any Return-It depot under the account number 778-982-9732.
Winter also thanked the legion for hosting the cadets and providing them with lunch and hot chocolate.
Next, the Aldergrove cadets are hosting a burger and trivia night fundraiser at the legion on Saturday, March 22.
