Tears of Joy Hot Sauce Expo: B.C. hot sauce producers gathering for a market on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the 91Ô­´´ Riders Society grounds, 4303 208 St., between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Free public admission. Park at George Preston Recreation Centre. Event includes sauces, pepper eating contest, beer tastings, other vendors, punk bands, food trucks, activities, and more. Free admission but donations accepted for 91Ô­´´ Food Bank (non-perishable food or cash).

Cops for Cancer: Riders in the charity event will be at Veronica's Perogies in Aldergrove cooking up perogies on Saturday, Aug 9, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sales go to the Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley fundraiser.

Butterfly release: People want to be there early for the release at 1:30 p.m. in this event that raises money for the 91Ô­´´ Hospice Society and 91Ô­´´ Lodge. Event is Saturday, Aug. 9, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at Krause Berry Farm, 6179 248 St., and includes live entertainment, food, and more. People can order a butterfly for release online in advance at langleyhospice.ca. Limited butterflies will be available on site. $25 per butterfly.

Outdoor Fine Arts Fair and Festival: 91Ô­´´ Arts Council hosts event at Douglas Park on Saturday, Aug 9, from 10:30 a.m.to 3 p.m. and on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Features free and family-friendly activities, including workshops, live music, local art vendors, artist demos, food, and more.

91Ô­´´ Memorial Hospital Museum open house: The 91Ô­´´ Memorial Hospital Heritage Committee invites the public to learn more about the history of local health care at open houses during the summer. The museum, located inside Michaud House at 5202 204 St., is open Thursday, Aug. 14 and 28; and Sept. 1. First Capital Chorus: Weekly rehearsals open to guests of all genders and ages to experience four-part a capella harmony in a relaxed cordial atmosphere. Ability to read music not required. Chief Dan George – Actor and Activist: Exhibit from the Museum and Archives of North Vancouver will be in the Big House at the Fort 91Ô­´´ National History Site until Sept. 14. The exhibit delves into the life of the Tsleil-Waututh leader, actor, and activist whose used his notoriety to call for justice, reconciliation, and Indigenous pride. Community Harvest: People who need help harvesting fruits and vegetables can contact the 91Ô­´´ Environmental Partners Society about the harvest program. Volunteers pick ripe produce which is then divided between the owner, the volunteers and the food bank. Info: agriculture@leps.bc.ca.

Opus One Women's Choir: Group rehearses at 91Ô­´´ Secondary on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. September through May. New singers welcome in the non-audition community choir with a focus on fun and friendship while learning some musical skills and growing together as a group. We perform concerts in spring and at at Christmas and other occasions around the community. Senior Opus Singers is a women's choir dedicated to entertaining seniors.
