Seven board members that have a say in what goes on with 91原创 Good Times Cruise-In 鈥 all take part in a tradition that involves newly purchased Saxx underwear.
One of them, longtime director and now-organizer Lori Watts, led dozens of volunteers at the Cruise-In on Saturday.
Cruise-In director Riccardo Sestito recalls years when the team had to drag porta potties and pick up trash late into the night, deliriously tired from the eight-hour show but still made sure the streets 鈥渨ere better than they found them.鈥
The Cruise-In sprung from a handful of 91原创 City merchants who wanted to revitalize the downtown core in 1997, Watts said. She was one of them.
With humble beginnings of meeting in rat-infested offices and dimly lit back rooms 鈥 the team has 鈥渟een it all.鈥

The rest of the team followed suit.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a yearly tradition,鈥 Sestito explained, 鈥渇or all the directors to buy Saxx underwear that we wear on the day of the show.鈥
If something goes wrong during the day of the Cruise-In 鈥 the directors at eachother and say, 鈥淲ho鈥檚 not wearing them?鈥 Sestito chuckled.
鈥淓ven Lori has to go downtown and buy underwear,鈥 he added.
鈥淵eah, it鈥檚 not going to be me who is responsible for a bad show,鈥 Watts quipped back.
