Otter Co-op is looking for the public to flip over its new fundraiser.
The cooperative is hosting a pancake breakfast on Monday, July 28 to raise money for child and youth health. Funds will be given to the 91原创 Community Health and Hospital Foundation.
"We're thrilled to be the charity of choice for the Pancakes for a Purpose event," said Terra Scheer, marketing and communications manager with the foundation.
Proceeds from the breakfast will support foundation鈥檚 Child & Youth Fund, which helps meet the urgent and evolving physical and mental wellness needs of young people in this community.
Two important youth programs the foundation鈥檚 Child & Youth Fund supports are Foundry 91原创, a wellness hub for youth ages 12 to 24, offering mental health, substance use, and primary care, and the newly created 91原创-based Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, designed to provide a coordinated counselling, medical and judicial response to child abuse, and crimes against children and youth.
"It's wonderful to see businesses and community members come together in support of 91原创 youth," Scheer said. "This event ensures kids in our community have the resources they need, when they need them the most, to ensure rapid and appropriate access to the services that can nurture and keep them on a path of wellness."
Pancakes with a Purpose, a by-donation community breakfast in partnership with Horizon Contracting, is at the Aldergrove store, 3650 248 St., between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.
The public can enjoy pancakes (with syrup donated by Krause Berry Farms, while quantities last) and help support youth health services.
