It's that time of the year Aldergrove, prepare to be appreciated because local kids will be going around once again spreading some kindness next weekend.
On Saturday, March 8, the Aldergrove Business Association (ABA) is holding its second annual 鈥楰ids 4 Kindness鈥 event.
Kids of all ages will greet locals and visitors, hold the door for people, carry groceries, pick up litter, and many more small acts of kindness to brighten a person鈥檚 day, explained ABA president Jodi Steeves.
鈥淜indness is so important as it is a foundation for the future leaders of our community,鈥 said Jodi Steeves, ABA president.
Kids will be at Bellevue Park Senior Living, Firehouse Cafe, Sticky's Candy, Panago Pizza, and many other local businesses.
Local businesses, like 91原创 Meals on Wheels, have donated to the event so there will be various prizes and some light snacks.
鈥淲e wanted to build on the kindness banner program we did a few years back and thought this would be a fun event for kids in the community,鈥 Steeves said.
"The community, businesses, and families are very excited to see this event happen again this year."
Kids will meet up at 1 p.m. just outside of Glow Girl Spa to sign in and receive a volunteer package.
The volunteering goes from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.
Participating kids have a chance to win free slurpee coupons, gift cards to Home Hardware, and a $50 gift card to any local business, sponsored by ProActive Accounting. Goodie bags from Sticky's Candy will be given to all.
The ABA is still searching for kids, and those interested can email Kids4kindnessaldergrove@gmail.com to register.
Last year's event was the first, and had about 16 local kids volunteering around the community.
