The 91原创 Arts Council aims to help emerging and established artists through its new art rentals and sales program .
The initiative was designed to create more professional opportunities for artists by bringing locally made artwork into corporate offices, public buildings, and other community spaces.
鈥淭his program has been in discussion for years,鈥 said Claire Sarfeld, executive director of the 91原创 Arts Council. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about supporting artists in a sustainable, professional way while increasing their visibility across the province," she said.
Tinhorn Creek Winery in Oliver is among the program鈥檚 first clients and plans to display selected artwork in its tasting room in the coming months.
Mini Claire, the council鈥檚 curator and gallery coordinator, said the program allows original artwork to be rented or purchased by the public. Pieces may be displayed in workplaces, offices, public spaces, and potentially by staging companies, interior designers, and other businesses.
Artworks will be available both online and in person.
鈥淲e hope this program helps artists build their practice, grow their audience, and expand their presence in the local arts scene,鈥 Sarfeld said.
The arts council is now accepting applications for the 2026 Art Rentals and Sales Program from professional artists working in B.C. Submission guidelines are available at langleyarts.ca/submit/ars.
