Students at Douglas Park Community Elementary got an addition to their music programs on Friday, courtesy of the World Music in the Plaza event held over the summer in downtown 91原创 City.

Teri James of the Downtown 91原创 Business Association dropped by the school on Friday, Nov. 3 to donate about $450 worth of instruments from 10,000 Villages that had been used in the concerts. World Music in the Plaza included bands from Korean, Brazilian, Jamaican and Celtic backgrounds.

The instruments were made overseas.

A group of students from all grades were called up on stage and each got to try out the rhythm and percussion instruments for a few minutes during an assembly.
