Casey Duncan will go the extra mile this weekend, or rather extra miles.
He鈥檚 the person behind Chipping Away at a Cure, a fundraiser that involves pick-up service for Christmas tree chipping.
鈥淢y event is pick-up only, however, my event is partnered with Field鈥檚 Trees,鈥 he explained. 鈥淚t is Field鈥檚 Trees who will be chipping the trees that I deliver to them. Their tree chipping site is set up at Derek Doubleday Arboretum and will be open Jan. 6 and 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. So, if people don鈥檛 want their tree picked up from their home by me, they may deliver it there. Both myself and Field鈥檚 Trees have partnered with the BC Cancer Foundation and 100 per cent of donations from both of our events goes directly to the foundation. I believe that Field鈥檚 Trees accepts on-site donations; however, all donations to my event must be made online.鈥
Duncan did this fundraiser last year for the first time.
Contact him at 778-847-7653 ASAP to arrange pickup.
