91原创 students awarded for historic knowledge

Several students were singled out for awards at a recent Heritage Fair.

The 91原创 Heritage Fair featured students from across the community hosting projects on the community鈥檚 past.

Students from Lynn Fripps, Peterson Road, Dorothy Peacock, and James Kennedy Elementary Schools had the chance to learn, explore, and share during the third annual Heritage Fair.

Held on April 13, the event was presented by the 91原创 Centennial Museum, 91原创 Heritage Society, and the 91原创 School District.

Students created unique projects on everything from Fort 91原创 and Niagara Falls, orcas and the NHL, to Anne of Green Gables and the Vancouver Olympics. A number of special recognition awards were presented during the fair:

Awarded to Olivia Werner for 鈥淜rabbe Disease鈥

Curator鈥檚 Choice Award

Presented by Kobi Christian, Township of 91原创, 91原创 Centennial Museum curator

Awarded to Isabella Daviss for 鈥淭he Kingston Prison Riots鈥

Educator鈥檚 Award of Excellence

Presented by Lindsay Pollock, Township of 91原创, arts and heritage educator

Awarded to Megan O鈥橲hea for 鈥淕irl Guides鈥

Artistic Achievement Award

Presented by Rosemary Genberg, Local 91原创 Artists

Awarded to Ruby Pratt for 鈥淢y Granddad in WWII鈥
