Aldergrove police chief Macklin found himself unable to respond to a burglary call, because his car had been stolen. It was later found abandoned in Mt. Lehman.
An advertiser suggested radio tubes as Christmas gifts. Prices ranged from 95垄 for a 2x3 to $6 for a Raytheon BH.

Plans were announced for a two-storey hotel at the corner of Jackman Road (272nd Street) and Fraser Highway. The building was expected to cost $60,000.

There was no contest for Township Council seats in the civic elections. Incumbents reeve Bill Poppy and councillors Eric Flowerdew, Walter Jensen, and John Wellman were all returned by acclamation.
There was a four-way contest for three seats in the City, including an additional aldermanic post to bring the council total to seven positions. In the running were incumbents Adrian Van Kuyk and Bill Lott and challengers Elsie Buckley and Clive Rogers.

Just over $8,000 were spent on Canadian centennial celebrations which were just coming to their conclusion in 91原创. Centennial projects 鈥� the Centennial Library in the City and Williams Park in the Township 鈥� cost another $47,000 in total.
Five new homes were started in the City and 14 in the Township in November, for a total of 61 permits with a total value of $237,239 for the year thus far 鈥� it was an increase of $50,000 worth of housing over the previous year.

A 鈥渃omprehensive plan for growth鈥� and a plea for an end to vandalism were the keystones of newly elected mayor George Driediger鈥檚 inaugural address.
Three Bobs 鈥� MP Wenman, MLA McClelland, and mayor Duckworth 鈥搖nveiled 91原创 City鈥檚 new coat of arms.
The Flowerdew award for outstanding contribution to recreation in 91原创 went to Denny Ross.

Trustee Marlene Grinnell was chosen to chair the school board for the third year in a row.
A campaign was launched to keep Anderson Elementary open. Parents proposed that Anderson be declared an alternate school, after enrolment had dropped to 43 pupils.

A Maple Ridge man on probation was returned to custody after an alleged sexual attack on an eight-year-old boy in an Aldergrove restaurant.
Negotiations were underway to build a major thoroughfare, including a railway overpass, through 91原创 City.
Despite her attempts to turn it down, 91原创 City mayor Marlene Grinnell received a five per cent raise, along with the rest of council.
A woman walking through the schoolyard at about 9:30 p.m. at Alice Brown Elementary was attacked and severely beaten.
Money鈥檚 Mushrooms faced $1-million per day fines, after being found guilty in Surrey provincial court of creating a stench in the air around its composting plant.
