The upcoming Aldergrove Community Market on Sunday, July 27, will help a local seniors group keep the rain out.
The Aldergrove Veterans and Seniors Society is fundraising for a new roof and the community market will support the society.
"The family‑friendly market has become a cornerstone of community connection in Aldergrove, showcasing local talent, supporting small businesses, and raising funds for an important cause," said Ashley Sturtevant, owner of Perfection Cleaning and one of the market organizers.
The Sunday, July 27 market starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m.
The markets take place at the Aldergrove Home Hardware parking lot at 3147 272 St. and are open to all ages. There's no admission cost but plenty of opportunity to support the seniors society.
There will be at least 30 local vendors.
"From farm‑fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, and baked treats to handcrafted art, jewelry, and home goods – visitors can shop a variety of unique, high‑quality products while supporting local entrepreneurs," she noted.
As well, food trucks will be serving up a variety of meal options throughout the day.
"We’re thrilled to feature three local musicians performing throughout the day, adding a lively soundtrack to the market experience," she added.
There's special events just for the kids. Meet and greet with beloved storybook princesses, who will also host story time and fun games for kids throughout the day.
A special appearance by Spider‑Man is from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
Barney’s Furry Friends is a local rescue will have an information booth at the market. They take in local rescue dogs and even save dogs off the euthanasia list in California, finding them loving homes all across B.C. after proper vetting and training. They are hoping to connect with future fosters and adopters.
Inclusion 91Ô´´ Society will also be at the market as will a 3D printer business, a flower stand, and more. Updates are provided on the page.
"This market isn’t just a celebration of local culture," Sturtevant said. "It also supports our neighbours at the Aldergrove Veterans and Seniors Society, helping fund a much needed new roof for their community building. Every visit to the market helps raise awareness and contributes to this meaningful cause."
The market in June helped the North Otter Elementary PAC inclusive playground equipment campaign.
