Otter Co-op makes lasting commitment to RibFest

Co-operative signs on as title sponsor of huge 91原创 event for three years

A title sponsor committing to three years is a big deal for any charitable event, and organizers of the annual RibFest were pretty psyched to share such news this week for their upcoming 91原创 party.

Otter Co-op and Angry Otter Liquor has been sponsoring the event in different ways since its inception in 2018. Then in 2023, Otter stepped into the key role as title sponsor. Then took it on again in 2024. Now, they've made a commitment not only for this year, but the future.

This week, the co-operative's CEO Jack Nicholson confirmed Otter's commitment to the three-day fundraising festivity held at McLeod Athletic Park every August.

"Otter Co-op and Angry Otter Liquor are proud to announce our three-year commitment as title sponsor, ensuring this event remains a highlight of our summer calendar," said Nicholson.

"Supporting RibFest 91原创 aligns with our mission to foster strong communities, create lasting memories, and give back to those who support us daily," he added.

This year's RibFest 91原创 runs Aug. 15 to 17, and beyond featuring several rival ribbers, and various other food vendors, it also include a jam-packed schedule of entertainment on stage, and various family friendly games and activities, plus a beverage garden.

"RibFest 91原创 has become a cherished summer tradition, uniting our community while raising crucial funds for local initiatives," added Nicholson.

Last year's event attracted more than 47,000 visitors. Organizers are hoping to exceed the 50,000 mark this summer.

RibFest co-chair Micheal Bolu was elated to share the news of Otter's ongoing commitment to the charity venture.

"The Rotary Clubs of 91原创 are thrilled and deeply grateful to have and Angry Otter Liquor continue as our title sponsors for RibFest for the next three years," Bolu said.

"Their unwavering commitment helps us keep RibFest accessible for all, while raising vital funds for 91原创 charities. This partnership is a true reflection of community spirit in action,鈥 Bolu added. Despite a severe storm during last year's event, they still reported record crowds and raised more than $125,000 for local charities and initiatives.

While the RibFest 91原创 is a free family event, donations help them turn good times into good works, said Micheal Bolu, RibFest鈥檚 co-chair.

"Every dollar donated stays right here in our community, supporting everything from literacy and youth development to caring for seniors and helping families in need,鈥 Bolu elaborated earlier this spring. 鈥淥ne hundred per cent of all proceeds from the event go to charities and service projects."
