Renowned limnologist talks water at 91原创 Township Civic Facility

Nina Munteanu to explore nuances of H20 during Aug. 16 presentation

Nina Munteanu鈥檚 book 鈥淲ater Is鈥︹, which was picked by Margaret Atwood for the NY Times 2016 鈥淭he Year in Reading.鈥

Water will be the topic of conversation Wednesday when limnologist Nina Munteanu visits the Fraser River Presentation Theatre early Wednesday evening.

Munteanu is an ecologist, limnologist and internationally published author of award-nominated speculative novels, short stories and non-fiction. She has been 鈥榠mmersed鈥 in water for 20 years.

During her presentation sponsored by 91原创 Environmental Partners Society, Munteanu will speak about the incredible nuances of water and her book 鈥淲ater Is鈥︹, picked by Margaret Atwood for the NY Times 2016 鈥淭he Year in Reading.鈥

Water Canada has recommended 鈥淲ater Is鈥︹ for 鈥淪ummer Reading鈥 2017.

The book explores water鈥檚 many identities through Munteanu鈥檚 personal journey as a limnologist, mother and teacher.

After the presentation and question and answer period, copies of Munteanu鈥檚 book will be available for cash at $25 each.

The event runs Aug. 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the theatre, located on the fourth floor of the theatre inside the Township Civic Facility, 20338 65th Ave.

There is no charge to attend this presentation and no RSVP is required.

The presentation will be followed by refreshments and book signing.

Munteanu is the co-editor of Europa SF and currently teaches writing courses at George Brown College and the University of Toronto.
