Drag performer Scarlett Ros茅 and 91原创 Animal Protection Society (LAPS) are bringing a one-of-a-kind event to 91原创鈥檚 Township 7 Vineyards and Winery on Thursday, Aug. 28, in the form of drag trivia in support of cats in need.
Director of development at LAPS Kelsi Sutton is excited about hosting drag trivia for the first time.
She emphasized that all fund raised from the evening will go directly to LAPS鈥� cat programs, as they are all donor-funded.
Sutton highlighted the urgent need for these funds at the shelter.
Guests are encouraged to arrive at 6:15 p.m. to enjoy a glass of Township 7 wine before trivia kicks off promptly at 6:45 p.m.
Sutton reported that there are at least 48 participants signed up, but the event鈥檚 positive reception has caused organizers to reopen registration to accommodate a few more last-minute teams.
In addition to the trivia competition, attendees can look forward to a bonus game of Heads or Tails, raffle prizes, and special appearances by some of LAPS鈥� most adorable kittens.
While the kittens won鈥檛 be available for adoption on-site, Sutton encouraged attendees to meet them and consider visiting at the shelter after.
She explained that the shelter is currently at maximum capacity for kittens and has placed several in its foster-care program.
The fundraising schedule had a slight gap in its fundraising timeline, Sutton noted, so they thought a drag trivia event would be a fun way to fill the hole and wrap up the summer.
In addition to benefiting the LAPS cat care fund, the event will also accept cash and pet food donations for the Community Pet Food Bank, supporting pets across 91原创.
Tickets are $45 per person or $160 for a team of four, and includes a glass of wine.
Interested participants are required to be at least 19 years old and can register online at under events.
