VIDEO: 91原创 music and motors fundraiser reaches goal early

Funds scholarships for kids of fallen peace officers

The fourth annual Motors & Music Car Show hasn't happened yet, but it already met its goal of raising $20,000.

Now, Jovan Vujatovic, producer/organizer of the Saturday, Aug. 16 event at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 91原创 City, is hoping for an even better final tally.

"Four tuitions [for children of fallen officers] have already been raised so far," Vujatovic told the 91原创 Advance Times.

"And I'm hoping that we have great weather this Saturday and I can raise at least one more tuition after covering costs."

Organized by Vujatovic, a former special reserve constable and a colleague of fallen Abbotsford Police officer Const. John Davidson, the event raised $5,000 in it's first year, $10,00 in the second, and $15,000 last year.

"Each year I'm trying to increase the amount of donation," Vujatovic said.

"The response has been really good out in the community. Car clubs are interested in coming out and participating, [the] community is interested in coming out, which is really, really positive."

Popular performers Alive N Kissin and  Steve "Elvis Elite" Eliott will be on stage once again.

Starbucks will be on site for the third year in a row handing out free beverages, along with some vendors and a "cool display of vintage police cars," said Vujatovic.

"I've kind of done a rinse and repeat from last year with the setup and also the acts and our sponsorships," he explained.

"Next year we'll look to probably change that up a little bit"

The car show runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University (91原创 City campus) at at 20901 91原创 Bypass.

Admission is free but donations are welcome.

Those wanting to sign up for the car show can do so in advance through the website  for a $25 fee. They are asked to arrive between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Any motorized vehicle of any make or model, as long as it's show quality, can take part.
