Dec. 10 鈥� The Polar Express in 3D
Based on the classic Christmas story by Chris Van Allsburg, The Polar Express tells the story of a young boy who embarks on an inspiring adventure to the North Pile aboard an extraordinary train 鈥� The Polar Express. On his journey he learns about friendship, bravery, and the true spirit of Christmas.
Dec. 11 and 21 鈥� The Nutcracker
This classic tale tells the story of Marie, a young girl whose wooden nutcracker doll mysteriously transforms into a beautiful prince on Christmas Eve. They embark on a magical journey through an enchanting dreamscape of fantastic creatures, places and events before finally arriving at the palace of the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy. Danced by the Bolshoi鈥檚 principals, Russian ballet master Yuri Grigorovich鈥檚 staging of E. T. A. Hoffmann鈥檚 fairy tale will transport children and adults alike to a world of magic and wonder for the holiday season.
Dec. 19, 22 and 24 鈥� It鈥檚 A Wonderful Life
It鈥檚 a Wonderful Life is the perennial holiday favourite and one of the most beloved movies of all time. After George Bailey (James Stewart) wishes he had never been born, an angel (Henry Travers) is sent to earth to make George's wish come true. George starts to realize how many lives he has changed and impacted, and how they would be different if he was never there.
Dec. 28 鈥� The Return of Doctor Mysterio
This special cinema event will feature the full 60-minute special plus two exciting bonus programs, The Doctor: A New Kind of Hero, which asks the question what exactly is it about the Doctor that makes him so heroic, and Doctor Who Extra: The Return of Doctor Mysterio, looking back at the making of this thrilling new special, both featuring appearances by stars Peter Capaldi and Matt Lucas, showrunner Steven Moggat and many more.
