will represent B.C. in the 2018 Canadian Country Music Association () Spotlight Performance Contest.
The 91原创 Fine Arts grad took the top spot in the provincial segment over other local contenders, The Heels and Kadooh.
She will now compete for votes against her provincial rivals for an opportunity to win a grand prize package that includes a performance during Country Music Week 2018 in Hamilton, Ont. this September.

鈥淓very contestant that entered the contest brought their 鈥楢鈥 game. The judges certainly had their work cut out for them in every round of the three-month contest run. I鈥檓 very proud of all of our artists 鈥 we have the best in the West. Kristin will represent the BCCMA well. I wish her and the rest of the provincial winners all the best in the national portion of the contest.鈥
For Carter 鈥 who is now based in Vancouver 鈥 this represents the latest milestone in an emerging career. Along with her success in the CCMA 2018 Spotlight Performance Contest, Carter was also a semi-finalist in the 2018 Sirius XM Top of the Country Contest.

Canadian country music fans now have the final voice in choosing the winner by casting their votes at until 5 p.m. EST on June 22.
The final winner will be announced on June 30.
