91原创 school hosts North Pole's Got Talent

H.D. Stafford Middle School has a Christmas-themed talent show that鈥檚 open to the public.

The students of H.D. Stafford Middle School have combined two popular concepts 鈥 Christmas and a talent show to create the North Pole鈥檚 Got Talent, a fundraiser Dec. 17.

More than a dozen acts will perform and the public is invited to attend this event that will raise funds for BC Children鈥檚 Hospital.

鈥淭he BC Children鈥檚 Hospital is something a little more special to us. Being kids just like the patients at the hospital makes us think more about what they鈥檙e going through, it gives us all the passion to want to help them,鈥 said student Samantha Haufler, one of the organizers.

The student performers will be from Grades 6 to 8 and must audition for a spot in the North Pole鈥檚 Got Talent.

鈥淭his is indeed the first time for this particular style of show for us,鈥 said teacher Nate Cavalli.

On stage will be a cross section of students, including some from the Integrated Fine Arts and material from the school鈥檚 February 2016 play.

鈥淭here will also be a preview of our upcoming play called The BFG,鈥 he said. 鈥淪o there will be some drama, some music, some dance, and some other unique talents.鈥

The public is invited to attend the 5 p.m. talent show (there are others for students earlier).

Donations will be accepted at the door and any donation over $20 qualifies for a tax receipt.
