The year's only Monster Jam in Vancouver will see local debuts for popular Sparkle Smash and JCB DIGatron trucks this weekend, starting Friday night (March 21).

Three days of dirty yet family-friendly action is promised at Pacific Coliseum, with tickets priced from $22 on .

Feld Entertainment's tour of 12,000-pound monsters is a family affair among the 12 drivers including father/son Jamey Garner (in El Toro Loco) and Zack Garner (Wild Side), brothers Adam Anderson (in Grave Digger) and Ryan Anderson (Son-uva Digger), and a dad (Matt Pagliarulo, in Jester) and his two sons (Mike and Nick Pagliarulo, driving Excaliber and Kraken, respectively).

Kayla Blood, the only female driver on this Monster Jam tour, is behind the wheel of Sparkle Smash, a colourful unicorn with attitude. 

Cole Venard, who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident and became the first amputee monster truck athlete, owns and drives Black Pearl. An inspiration, Venard created the non-profit organization Limbs Like Me, focused on raising awareness about prosthetic technology.

Tristan England drives JCB DIGatron, the design of which is inspired by the company's construction equipment.

The drivers are here to battle for the Stadium Championship Series West title and a spot in the Monster Jam World Finals in Salt Lake City, Utah, on the July 4 weekend.

In Vancouver, special-access tickets are required for Monster Jam's Pit Party events Saturday and Sunday at the Coliseum, from 10:30 a.m. to noon daily.
