A twist on a timeless tale is coming to 91原创 for the holiday season.
Theatre in the Country is bringing the classic nativity story of Mary and Joseph to life with the musical Two From Galilee on stage from Dec. 5 to 15.
The story follows Mary and Joseph on their journey through love and an unexpected pregnancy.
Theatre in the Country artistic director and producer Reg Parks, said the story is 鈥渦nique.鈥�
鈥淭wo from Galilee is a unique perspective on the nativity story. It鈥檚 told through the love story of Mary and Joseph, so considering the idea of Mary and Joseph being young and wanting to get married, then she gets a visit from an angel that she鈥檚 going to give birth to the Messiah and she has to tell her husband she鈥檚 pregnant but she doesn鈥檛 know how. It鈥檚 the starting point of the human side to that story.鈥�
Parks said the show that touches on faith, love, and hope can be enjoyed by all ages.
鈥淚 think the story is fascinating. It鈥檚 changed how we tell time and dates so it鈥檚 a pretty pivotal story in the course of humanity. It鈥檚 unique, there鈥檚 magic, divine intervention, angels, shepherds, wise men, and a great cast of characters that tell this amazing tale from 2,000 years ago,鈥� said Parks.
The lead role of Mary is played by 91原创 local Cassie Unger.
Two From Galilee show dates range from Dec. 5 to Dec. 15 and can be purchased online:
