Round up the pals for an old-school, boot-stompin' hoedown to celebrate Queer country music at Fort 91原创 Community Hall on Friday, June 6.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and features an all-star line up of B.C. country Queer talent.
The performers do an array of country classics by Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Lavender Country and more, along with their own originals.
"This music is a part of our monthly music series that our Society runs through its Music Committee," said Tom Hammel, with the Fort Langey Community Improvement Society which runs the community hall.
The night kicks off with an easy two-step lesson at 7 p.m. There's prizes for the "best dressed cowpokes", and the event will raise funds for trans youth and supports the group QMunity. Big hats and bolo ties are encouraged.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the hall, 9167 Glover Rd. There will be a bar and snacks available.

Performing will be Elise LeBlanc whose covers include Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, KD Lang & The Reclines, and more.
The Unbranded do outlaw country standards and rocking originals with pedal steel, twang, and heartfelt harmonies with a gritty 1970's sound inspired by Waylon Jennings and Buck Owens.
Beastie鈥檚 music is a vocally driven blend of dusty old country, blues, and witty, dark-humoured folk. Expect original flamin鈥 gay honky tonk tunes and haunting, country gothic waltzes.
Banjo-pickin' country rocker Leah Barley offers contagious, original bops are inspired by '70s country rock, soul, and blues.
鈥淏utch Sassidy鈥 is sure to have all ya鈥檒l swoonin鈥 and sweatin鈥 with his signature gallant mustache, charming drawl, and the biggest ole鈥 hat around.
