Family and friends of Dee Lippingwell will host a posthumous "pop-up" art show and sale of her work on Sunday, June 8.
The Surrey-based Lippingwell, a trailblazer in the world of concert photography for 50-plus years, after a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis early in 2024.
Lippingwell was 78, said Peggy Sulivan, a business partner and friend who will co-host the June 8 show and sale, to also include the Vancouver-focused art of Mark Prosser, who'll be in attendance.
The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion hall at 2655 Main St., Vancouver. Admission is free, with photo prints, books, art and more available for purchase.
Rock-star photographs by Lippingwell are posted and sold on . The Rolling Stones, Queen, Aerosmith, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Eric Clapton, KISS, Van Halen – Lippingwell photographed them all, for publications around the world.
Prior to her death, Lippingwell worked to catalogue images of the estimated 3,500 concerts she’d photographed since her very first, a Pink Floyd gig in Vancouver in 1973.
