Talent from Las Vegas, Seattle, and Victoria are coming to the West Coast for what has developed into a fundraiser on Saturday.
The Fraser Valley Magic Circle is hosting its sixth annual Christmas Banquet Nov 18 at West 91原创 Hall.
The acts of Bizzaro, Louie Foxx and Murray Hatfield have all won numerous awards and appeared on such TV shows as America鈥檚 Got Talent, Penn & Teller鈥檚 Fool Us, and Wizard Wars.
This year, organizer have decided to turn the event into a fundraiser for Abbotsford Police . That day, police received a call about a possible stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a strip mall in the 3200 block of Mt. Lehman Road, north of Highstreet Shopping Centre.
The suspect 鈥 later identified as Oscar Ferdinand Arfmann 鈥 began shooting at the caller and others with a shotgun.
APD officers arrived and tried to arrest the suspect. Gunshots were exchanged, and Davidson was shot.
Magic Circle member and past president Gord Boyes worked with Davidson.
In fact, Boyes鈥 wife and daughter also work for the APD and are all feeling the tragic loss of their colleague and dear friend. Gord and Donna are in Australia during this hard time and said, 鈥淭his is another tough day for us. We are away in Australia on vacation, having trouble keeping track of what day it is here and what day it is at home. Recently we lost a friend and colleague and we cannot be there to pay our respects.鈥
Davidson is survived by his wife and three children.
The APD started a campaign () to help ease the financial burden on Davidson鈥檚 wife.
The Fraser Valley Magic Circle has agreed to donate $10 per adult ticket sold for their annual Christmas banquet to the fund.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner is at 6 p.m., and the show gets underway at 8 p.m. at West 91原创 Hall, 9402 208 St.
