Two 91原创 actors are taking the stage on Crescent Beach at Blackie Spit this August with Beach House Theatre鈥檚 summer production of The Foreigner.
Set in Betty Meeks鈥 Fishing Lodge Resort in Georgia, The Foreigner follows the outlandish adventures of Charlie Baker, a proof reader by day and a boring husband by night. This shy Englishman adopts the persona of a 鈥渇oreigner鈥 who doesn鈥檛 understand English in order to enjoy a quiet retreat away from his troubles. But secrets and evil plots are quickly revealed forcing Baker to discover a heroic side of himself that bubbles forth to help save the day.
The cast includes 91原创 actors Jeff Hacker as Owen Musser, the disagreeable local property inspector, and Rebekah MacEwan as Catherine Simms, a young local woman soon to be wed to Rev. David Marshall Lee.
Other cast members are James Walker in the lead role as Charlie Baker; Michelle Collier as Betty, the friendly, but naive landlady; Greg Derksen as Sgt. 鈥淔roggie鈥 LeSueur, a British Army explosives instructor and Charlie鈥檚 best friend; Elliot Figueira as Rev. David Marshall Lee; and Jacob Hildebrand as Ellard Simms, Catherine鈥檚 awkward and shy brother.
The Foreigner runs at 8 p.m. Aug. 9 to 14.
The play deals with some mature themes and uses coarse language. Parental guidance is suggested.
