White Rock Jazz & Blues Festival returning to seaside streets

A well-loved, free outdoor music festival is returning to White Rock next month.

The White Rock Jazz & Blues Festival, sponsored by the White Rock BIA, is returning to the seaside city's streets, featuring some old favourite performers as well as some newcomers.

Kicking off Friday, June 13 and into the next day, all outdoor shows will be free for anyone to enjoy, while some paid indoor options will also be at Blue Frog Studios in the evenings.

The schedule for the White Rock festival will be as follows:

Saltaire Amphitheatre Stage
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Alexander Browne & His Boulevardiers
1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Colin Sankey
2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Company B Jazz Band

Miramar Plaza Stage
11:00am-11:45am, Balkan Shmalkan
12:15pm-1:00pm, Vibetown Trio
1:30pm-2:15pm, Dean Thiessen
3:00pm-4:00pm Jazz Orchestra of the 49th Parallel

Five Corners Stage
11:30am-12:30pm, White Rock Rhythm Kings
12:45-1:30pm, Balkan Shmalkan
2:00pm-2:45pm, Ruby Lane Organ Trio
3:15pm-4:00pm, Norine Braun

Laura鈥檚 Coffee Corner Stage
11:00am-11:45am, Dean Thiessen
12:15pm-1:00pm, Rocky Riobo
1:30pm-2:15pm, Rocky Riobo
2:45pm-3:30pm, Vibetown Trio

Tom Lavin and the Legendary Powder Blues are headlining the ticketed shows at Blue Frog Studios, with the band fresh off tour to play to the White Rock crowd. The ensemble will be performing at 7 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Saturday, with tickets and more information available at
