Rumours that 91原创 City鈥檚 former mayor is planning to run again are premature, Peter Fassbender said Monday.
鈥淧eople have talked to me, they said they think I should consider it,鈥 Fassbender said. But he has not made any decision on whether or not he will run again, he said.
Fassbender is currently working as co-chair of Todd Stone鈥檚 campaign for the BC Liberal leadership. Voting for the new Liberal leader will take place from Feb. 1 to 3 next year.
Fassbender previously served as a 91原创 school trustee, then won a City council seat in 2002. He became mayor in 2005 after Marlene Grinnell retired from the post.
In 2013, he took a leave as mayor to run as a BC Liberal candidate in Surrey-Fleetwood and won a narrow victory. From 2015, he served as minister responsible for TransLink.
He lost his seat in this year鈥檚 election to the NDP鈥檚 Jagrup Brar.
