Man offering rides to 91原创 high school girls prompts RCMP warning

The RCMP is offering safety tips to students in light of recent reports.

A man approaching girls near R.E. Mountain Secondary has the RCMP warning people about safety.

He has reportedly offered rides to students and offered his phone number.

鈥淎t this point nothing has been reported as 鈥榗riminal鈥 in his behaviour,鈥 explained 91原创 RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy.

Investigators believe they have identified the male, however to date, he has not been located and interviewed.

Largy said he is described as East Indian, about 21 years old, approximately 5鈥11鈥 and 160 lbs. He is well-kept and well-dressed and well spoken, and is close/clean shaven. He was seen driving a newer white SUV. Having said that, he may be driving vehicles the police are not aware of.

Students walking to or from school are reminded to walk with friends when possible and be aware of their surroundings.

鈥淎void wearing headphones that may hinder your ability to hear approaching vehicles or people,鈥 she added. 鈥淎lthough it may sound 鈥榦ld-school鈥 鈥 don鈥檛 talk to strangers. If you are approached by someone unknown to you, keep moving towards a well populated area. Always, report the incident to police.鈥
