The Vancouver Stealth announced Thursday that the team has acquired goaltender Brodie MacDonald from the Georgia Swarm in exchange for a conditional fifth round pick in the 2020 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.
鈥淚鈥檓 really excited to start this new chapter with the Stealth,鈥 said Brodie MacDonald. 鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to start training camp this season inside a place that has always felt like my home.鈥
MacDonald is a six-year NLL veteran who has appeared up in 99 games, having a record of 10-14, with a 10.79 goals against average (G.A.A) and a .625 save percentage.
In 2017, he won a Champion鈥檚 Cup with the Georgia Swarm. He has played in 98 games for the 91原创 Thunder of the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA), where he has a record of 40-35-4, 8.35 G.A.A and a .805 save percentage.
He helped lead 91原创 to back-to-back WLA Championships in 2011 and 2012 and was named the WLA Rookie of the Year and Playoff MVP in 2011.
鈥淏rodie is a mature goalie who has had some great games in both the National Lacrosse League and the Western Lacrosse Association,鈥 said head coach and assistant general manager Jamie Batley. 鈥淎t 28-years-old, Brodie brings a lot of experience to our camp and we expect him to push the pace to make our roster.鈥
Vancouver will begin training camp on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 to 11 a.m., 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Sunday Nov. 5, from 9 to 11 a.m.
The team will play two pre-season games the following week on Nov. 11, when they host the Calgary Roughnecks at 7 p.m. and on Nov. 12 at 9 a.m. against the Colorado Mammoth. The pre-season games and all training camp sessions will be free and open to the public.
