The entire community is invited to celebrate the grand opening of Penzer Action Park on Thursday, June 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the community park, located at 198 C Street, 91原创, south of 48 Avenue.
A live DJ, food trucks, instructional demos, drop-in basketball, and hockey are all part of the festivities scheduled to officially open Penzer Action Park.
The $1.3-million Penzer Action Park project was completed thanks in part to a $500,000 contribution from the Government of Canada鈥檚 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
It includes new children鈥檚 natural adventure playground, a multi-use sports court, a custom-concrete pump track and parkour course (an obstacle-style training course originally designed by and for the military).
This project boast the largest parkour course in Canada that features one-of-a-kind elements such as a structure obstacle course; six different challenge lines to show easy, medium, and hard tracks for users to follow, graphical tutorial signs for fundamental parkour movements, and QR codes on each sign link to corresponding tutorial videos that visitors can watch on their phones.
鈥淚 wanted to be sure that the park is approachable and fun even for people who have never done parkour before,鈥 said Colin MacDonald, a parkour designer from PFV Designs.
鈥淚鈥檓 delighted to see the City of 91原创 taking a leadership role in making this amazing sport accessible to more people.鈥
