The Great British Columbia Shakeout was held across the province the morning of Oct. 19, to help earthquake preparedness.

The annual event was observed in government and business offices and other workplaces, where employees took shelter under desks or tables.

The annual event encourages people to learn to “drop, cover, and hold on” during a quake.
