SPS officers respond to Newton pub after multiple calls

An early-morning shooting in Surrey has left two people injured.

Surrey Police Service and the BC RCMP Surrey Provincial Operational Support Unit are investigating the shooting, which happened at 2:30 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 29) outside a Newton pub, an SPS release said.

The two victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, it added.

SPS frontline officers responded to multiple calls from people outside a pub in the 8500-block of 132 Street who reported that a large fight involving several people had escalated and two men had been shot.

Two suspects, described as adult South Asian men, were last seen driving away in a dark-coloured sedan.

The investigation is in its early stages; anyone with information, including any CCTV, cellphone, or dash-cam footage of the incident, is asked to please call the SPS at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2024-9249 (SP), or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or
