Canucks announce summer hockey camp for Abbotsford Centre

The inaugural Junior Canucks Hockey Camp is set for the Abbotsford Centre this summer.

The Vancouver Canucks have announced a new Junior Canucks Hockey Camp, which is scheduled for this summer inside the Abbotsford Centre.

Attendees can choose either the Aug. 11 to 15 or Aug. 18 to 22 sessions.

The camp is open to U9, U11 and U13 of all skill levels and genders.

"Our mission is simple: create a fun and positive environment for aspiring hockey players to flourish into a promising athlete," the camp's registration page states. "Our camp experience is built around professional instruction with a strong commitment to ensuring that every player leaves with improved skills, new friendships, and great memories."

Participants must bring their own full hockey gear including neck guard, socks and more on each day of camp.

The camp includes: 

  • 2.5 hours of on-ice training
  • Six hours of off-ice development
  • Junior Canucks jersey, water bottle, workout t-shirt and shorts
  • Junior Canucks photo
  • Team building activities
  • Daily prizes and awards
  • A special visit from FIN, Vancouver Canucks mascot
  • Guest appearances from Vancouver Canucks Alumni

On-ice aspects include: skating, puck skills and competitiveness on the ice. Goalies will also receive separate training.

Off-ice training consists of: skills development, age-appropriate strength and agility training, nutrition and healthy habits seminar and team building exercises.

The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and there is a registration fee of $695. Those who register before June 11 receive a $50 discount.
