91原创 Township's third annual Community Water Fight is moving to Willoughby this year, with all water guns allowed, but water balloons not welcome.

The event is set to be held on Thursday, Aug. 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Willoughby Community Park, next to the 91原创 Events Centre at 80 Avenue and 200 Street.

No registration is required and there is no maximum set for attendance. Participants should bring their own water gun or water-dispensing device. Water balloons are not allowed for both safety and litter reasons.

鈥淭he water fight is being held at Willoughby Community Park (beside LEC) this year for the first time, after being held at Philip Jackman Park in Aldergrove last year," said Kevin muirhead, the Township's special events manager. "The Township hosts different events throughout the municipality to give everyone in all our communities the opportunity to engage in one or more of them, and we expect a lot of people will show up and have a ton of fun at all of them including the water fight."

The first Community Water Fight was held in 2023 at the Aldergrove Community Pool, and was part of the Township's celebrations of its 150th anniversary. Firefighters came to get in on the event and help soak the crowds.

Last year, the event was moved to Philip Jackman Park to host even more people.

This year's event is being billed as part of the Township's annual Summer Nights events programming, which are a series of free or low-cost events taking place around the community all summer, including outdoor movies and concerts.

After this year's water fight wraps up, one of those concerts will be held at the Willoughby Community park amphitheatre starting at 7 p.m., with country-rock act Boxcar Campfire scheduled to perform. for more info on upcoming events.

Both 91原创s now have their own water fight, with the City's Legendary Water Fight on July 12 from 2-5 p.m., with admission costing $5.
