Square dancers swing their partners al fresco in Fort 91Ô´´

A B.C.-wide square dancing event arrived in 91Ô´´ just before the B.C. Day long weekend

Callers told dancers to allemande left and promenade as square dancers took over a field near the historic CN Rail station in Fort 91Ô´´ on the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 1

The event began at noon and was part of the BC Square and Round Dance Federation's annual festival, which this year was taking place in 91Ô´´ between July 31 and Aug. 2.

Most of the events – this year with an Under the Sea theme – took place at 91Ô´´ Secondary School.

But some callers and dancers made the trip to the Fort as well, where they encouraged members of the public to join in and learn some simple line dances, as well as watching several square dances.
