Trinity Western University celebrated the largest graduating class in its history this spring, honouring more than 1,500 students during ceremonies held April 26 at 91原创 Events Centre.
Friends, family members, faculty, and staff gathered to cheer the TWU students completing undergraduate and graduate degrees, applauding this year's cohort for their academic accomplishments and leadership development, explained president Dr. Todd F. Martin
He congratulated the class of 2025.
鈥淚t has been our honour to support you during your time here, guiding you in your education, growth, and personal development. The faculty and staff share in the joy of this moment with you, proud of all that you鈥檝e accomplished," he said.
Equipped to lead well
"As you step into the marketplaces of life, you carry not just a degree but a mission," Martin continued. "The world you enter needs leaders who think deeply, act righteously, and live with unwavering faith鈥 Today we send you with great hope, knowing you are ready."
A day of celebration and blessing
This year鈥檚 undergraduate valedictorian is Joseph Bebawi, who completed a bachelor of arts in psychology with human services, described his experience of the TWU community as marked by genuine care and kindness, he expressed a hope that TWU's class of 2025 would be 鈥渒nown for its love and its joy.鈥
As part of the celebrations, TWU also recognized outstanding faculty members who exemplify excellence and innovation in teaching.
Dr. Jeffrey Beck, sessional assistant professor of leadership, received the 2025 Davis distinguished teaching award, while Dr. Jason Burtt, assistant professor of sociology, received the 2025 provost innovative teaching award.
TWU has annually presented the citizenship award to a graduating female and male student who exemplifies servant leadership and who have made a significant and positive contribution to the campus community. Recipients are selected through a vote by peers, staff, and faculty and are recognized during TWU鈥檚 baccalaureate service as part of spring graduation celebrations.
This time around, award recipients were Sen Longkumer and Lukas Schuch.
On April 24, 2025, TWU also celebrated the formal inauguration of the university鈥檚 sixth president, Dr. Martin.
Gabriel Miller, president and CEO of Universities Canada, offered congratulatory remarks, while Dr. David A. Hoag, president of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities delivered the inaugural challenge address.
