As a professional who helps people improve their hearing, does a lot more than just analyze people鈥檚 ears.

鈥淗earing empowers us. It helps us lead our everyday lives without limitations. It enables us to socialize, work and communicate. It also helps us to stay connected to the outside world, and it keeps us safe by warning us of potential danger. A telephone ringing, a restless baby or the blare of a fire alarm are just a few examples of essential signals that we need to be able to hear.鈥

For those accustomed to hearing with ease, gradual or sudden hearing loss can cause frustration and disconnection. Kim is passionate about helping those people get reconnected.

鈥淚鈥檝e been giving people the gift of hearing for over 25 years and it鈥檚 still incredibly rewarding, every single day. I aim to meet the healthcare needs of my clients, and also guide and counsel family members in learning how to cope with the hearing impairment that has affected their daily lives.鈥

Finding connection in challenging times

No matter where you are in this world, it鈥檚 a challenging time to be alive. Kim recognizes that her work is part of a much bigger health picture for her clients, both mentally and physically.

鈥淲ith everything going on in the world, more than ever it is important to connect with family and friends. We鈥檙e feeling the fear of what鈥檚 happening in Ukraine and other parts of the world, where war is a constant presence. Pandemic mandates are too loose for some and too strict for others, and everyone is feeling the stress. Communicating with family and friends is essential to feeling loved and connected,鈥 Kim says.

When Kim presents a client with their hearing results and fits them with a hearing aid, she鈥檚 not just helping them hear. She鈥檚 connecting them to the world again.

鈥淭here has never been a more important time to stay connected with family and friends. These are the people that are going to get us through these tough times and the people that we will need to lean on to voice our thoughts and concerns.鈥

Kim鈥檚 service includes coaching on supporting someone with hearing loss, as well as hearing aid fittings and adjustments. If hearing is a hurdle to connecting with loved ones during these challenging times, Kim can help.
