What's the most common thing organizers hear from Downtown 91原创's renowned Fork & Finger event? That's easy, says Chris Parsons, executive director of the Downtown 91原创 Business Association: 鈥淚 found my new favourite restaurant!鈥

"Fork & Finger is a fantastic opportunity to try something new and fall in love with a dish or two 鈥 or three 鈥 all while supporting local businesses," Parsons says.

One of the most anticipated annual events in Downtown 91原创, Fork & Finger fills McBurney Plaza Aug. 23.

"Whether it鈥檚 Lamb Koobideh, Shrimp Ceviche or Flautas, it鈥檚 the perfect chance to explore a new restaurant or new type of cuisine," Parsons says. "Others return year after year to enjoy their favourite dishes at unbeatable prices, thanks to the $5 and $10 Fork & Finger Features. These specials are only available on Saturday, Aug. 23 鈥 so come hungry and ready to discover something delicious!"

And this year promises even more treats to sample.

"We鈥檙e thrilled to welcome a record-breaking 30 restaurants for the Passport 鈥 the largest number of participants since the Passport launched in 2014. Clearly, our downtown restaurants are just as excited as we are to bring this event back in a big way," Parsons says.

Simply pick up your Passport in McBurney Plaza during the event, then visit participating restaurants and purchase a $5 or $10 Fork & Finger Feature. With every purchase, you鈥檒l earn a sticker. Collect at least three stickers and return your completed Passport to McBurney Plaza to enter the draw.

Foodies and home cooks alike also love the live cooking demonstration stage where you can catch chef-led demos, expert tips and fresh foodie inspiration featuring culinary talent from right here in Downtown 91原创 鈥 visit for the full schedule and session overviews.

New: A feast for Fido!

"We also recommend browsing the online menu ahead of time so you can plan your must-try dishes," Parsons notes, highlighting as well the free, refillable water station. "And if you have dietary needs, you鈥檒l find common dietary notes included on the online menu, but we always suggest confirming directly with the restaurant before ordering.

Pro tip: Bring your friends! "It鈥檚 easy to get full quickly with so many delicious features, so sharing dishes is a great way to sample more restaurants and flavours throughout the day." And if you need to relax a while between dishes, you can enjoy live music from Ryan McAllister in the plaza.
