Hockey bags full of $1,500,000 worth of cocaine was dumped out of a van and into a ditch in Aldergrove on Thursday morning, Oct. 4.

Around 7:30 a.m., 91原创 RCMP received an anonymous call to report a suspicious scene in the 27200 block of 8 Avenue.

The caller said he witnessed an eastbound van with three occupants inside throw what looked like three hockey bags into a ditch at that location.

Police went to the location and recovered two hockey bags containing what appeared to be 21 bricks of cocaine.

Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services attended and attempted to locate the third bag, however they were not successful.  Police could not locate anyone associated to the bags, said Cpl. Holly Marks.

These bricks of cocaine have an approximate street value of half a million dollars. 91原创 RCMP has not been able to identify the owner of the drugs so no charges will be laid.

鈥淭his is a substantial seizure that we are happy to have off the streets," said 91原创 RCMP Supt. Derek Cooke about the 21 kilograms of coke.  "There is no doubt these drugs would have caused significant harm to many people鈥檚 lives. I am hopeful that instead, this seizure will have a positive impact.鈥
