Three people were shot in an apparent road-rage incident involving a white Tesla Model 3 in Surrey early Tuesday morning (July 15).

Surrey Police Service is investigating the incident that happened at about 1 a.m. on 84 Avenue near 140 Street, a police press release reports. The Tesla, with an unknown Ontario licence plate and occupied by three people, pulled up alongside the car and fired "numerous shots" at them before the suspects fled.

The four occupants of the car that had been shot had made their way to the SPS District 3 office. BCEHS ambulance personnel were called and treated three of the four men for what police describe as "non-life-threatening injuries related to gunshot wounds." The men were then taken to hospital in stable condition.

The SPS Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation, and police say the victims are cooperating with investigators.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation but appears to be related to a "road rage incident," police say.

The suspects in the Tesla are described as three South Asian males, but no further description is available.

Anyone who saw the shooting or who may have any information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, is asked to call Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2025-58724 (SP).
