An Abbotsford pediatric dentist has been prohibited on an interim basis from treating patients, following allegations that he acted inappropriately toward members of his staff.
The order was issued by the BC College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP) against Dr. Sukrit Grewal, who runs the Children鈥檚 Oral Care Centre on McCallum Road.
The 鈥渘otice of extraordinary action to protect the public鈥 was posted May 19 on the BCCOHP website.
鈥淭he order was put in place on an interim basis, pending the outcome of the investigation of multiple complaints, or any discipline hearing that may result,鈥 the notice states.
The nature of Grewal鈥檚 alleged misconduct is not specified.
ALSO SEE:
The order restricts Grewal from treating patients at his clinic or any other clinic and from communicating with his staff.
As well, he is not permitted to: supervise dentistry services, be at his clinic when patients or staff are present, communicate with clinic staff, and contact patients except to advise them of the order, advise them that another dentist will provide services in his place or refer them to another dentist.
