Another possible case of mistaking the gas pedal for the brake in 91Ô­´´

The second crash in two days involving seniors possibly mistaking the gas for the brake, this time at Excel Jewellers on Tuesday.

Township firefighters converse after a woman in her 70s might have mistook the gas pedal for the break and took out the pillar of Excel Jewellers in a Willowbrook shopping centre on Tuesday. Nobody was injured but it is the second such crash in two days.

Two drivers in two days may have mistaken the gas pedal for the brake, this time sending a vehicle up and over the curb and taking out a the front pillar of Excel Jewellers on Tuesday.

A woman in her 70s told 91Ô­´´ RCMP she thought she was hitting the brake but kept accelerating right into the building around 11:15 a.m. in the London Drugs Willlowbrook shopping centre on 64 Avenue.

Nobody was injured in the crash, including the driver. Police don't suspect impairment. The front pillar has extension damage.

On Monday, a man in his 80s also may have mistook the gas pedal for the brake, this time plowing his SUV through the front windows of Nature's Fare bistro during the lunch hour. In that crash, two staff were seriously injured and two others suffered minor injuries. The vehicle slammed right into the lunch counter where it finally stopped. The driver wasn't hurt.
