Acting on information that a man wanted for first-degree murder was hiding inside a 91原创 home, the Integrated Homicide Investigation team descended on a house in the Willoughby neighbourhood on Wednesday afternoon.
IHIT spokesperson Cpl. Frank Jang, confirmed that the homicide investigation team was looking for Brandon Nathan Teixeira when they entered the home in the 7300 block of 202A Street.
鈥淚n regards to the Brandon Teixeira ongoing investigation, we believed he was there, but he wasn鈥檛,鈥 said Jang.
IHIT was assisted in its search by members of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team (LMERT) and the RCMP鈥檚 Air 1 helicopter. The area was cordoned off by heavily armed officers as ERT members stormed the property and home.
Jang confirmed three people at the residence were briefly taken into custody and then released.
Teixeira, 27, who has been described by police as 鈥渆xtremely violent,鈥 is wanted in connection with the October 2017 shooting death of Nicholas Khabra in South Surrey.

Jang said the investigation remains focused in the Lower Mainland area, but residents of Calgary and Edmonton have also been asked to be on the lookout for Teixeira.
