Homicide investigators have taken over the case of missing 91原创 man Devon Goodrick.
Goodrick was reported missing by his family on Monday, Sept. 27. He was last seen early Saturday, Sept. 25, in the area of 192nd Street and 28th Avenue in Surrey, according to police.
91原创 RCMP confirmed Thursday morning the missing person file had been transferred to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
One week ago, on Oct. 7, Goodrick鈥檚 family held a vigil at Douglas Park to bring awareness about his disappearance.
The following day, Oct. 8, IHIT took conduct of the investigation 鈥渋n accordance with its mandate to investigate high-risk missing persons and suspicious deaths,鈥� they said in a release issued Thursday afternoon.
Investigators said they are speaking with family and associates of Goodrick and have completed a neighbourhood canvassing for CCTV and constructing a timeline.
鈥淲e are working closely with our partners and we are making a public plea for anyone with information on Devon to come forward,鈥� said Det. Cpl. Sukhi Dhesi, IHIT spokesperson.
At this time, officers don鈥檛 believe Goodrick鈥檚 disappearance is connected to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict.

On the night of the vigil, Goodrick鈥檚 sister Nikki told the 91原创 Advance Times police didn鈥檛 have any leads on his whereabouts.
On Wednesday night (Oct. 13), Nikki shared a post on Facebook where she talks about the 鈥渢orture鈥� she and her family have experienced since her brother disappeared.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been 19 days since my brother has vanished, 19 days of absolute torture for my family and I,鈥� she wrote.
鈥淣ineteen days without his daily calls and visits, without his contagious laugh and funny jokes. Nineteen days since we鈥檝e got to tell each other that we love each other (he would never get off the phone or leave without saying it, even if we were mad at each other). Devon has the biggest heart and always knew how to light up the room and cheer me up when I鈥檓 feeling down. I will never stop until I have Devon home, and if someone is responsible for his disappearance I will never stop until those people feel the pain my family and I are feeling right now. Please continue to spread awareness, every share, every lead, every prayer means so much and could possibly bring us closer to getting Devon home.鈥�
Goodrick is described as Caucasian, 26 years of age, 6鈥�4鈥� tall, and weighing approximately 250 pounds. He has brown hair, green eyes and light facial hair.
He was last seen wearing a full black Hugo Boss track suit with a blue stripe down.
