StageCoach Theatre Arts Schools has a charity concert on Sunday, March 16 from 2 pm at the Queen
Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. More than 350 students from across the Lower Mainland perform a range of musical pieces to raise money for the KidSafe Project: a Vancouver charity providing nutrition and support to hundreds of vulnerable inner-city children.
芒鈧揙pening this performance to the public allows us to share the talents of StageCoach kids while supporting an important pillar in our local community. KidSafe reflects StageCoach芒鈧劉s passion for providing programs that not only teach skills, but will equip young people with life skills and confidence to assist them in whatever they will do in the future,芒鈧� explained Hilary Wight, StageCoach Canada Senior Principal.
StageCoach has schools in 91原创, Coquitlam, Langford, Richmond, Surrey and Vancouver.
Featuring students from grades 1 to 12, the event features a range of musical genres and themes performed by each school. Audience members can enjoy interpretations of 芒鈧淏eing Yourself芒鈧劉, 芒鈧淛ungle Rhythm芒鈧劉, 芒鈧淢otown芒鈧劉 and even 芒鈧淪ummer Fun芒鈧劉 to remind them of what芒鈧劉s to come following Vancouver芒鈧劉s cold snap. StageCoach students are triple threat 芒鈧�� learning to sing, dance and act.
Proceeds from the concert will go towards maintaining KidSafe芒鈧劉s programs to help Vancouver芒鈧劉s most vulnerable children. Serving more than 450 kids each year, the charity provides a safe haven, nutrition, caring adult connections and educational activities to six elementary schools during school breaks. Audience members will also have the opportunity to donate to KidSafe directly through a raffle with prizes such as a free bursary for StageCoach programs, a David芒鈧劉s Tea prize package, and more.
芒鈧揑n British Columbia 1 in 6 children live in poverty and that means that many children do not have adequate resources to survive let alone thrive. KidSafe continues to be extremely grateful to our donors and partners like StageCoach who generously give of their time, talent, and energy to work towards a better life for some of BC芒鈧劉s most vulnerable children and families. StageCoach should be recognized for playing a key role in not only the arts-education community but for its philanthropic role in advancing the conditions for many of the most vulnerable children,芒鈧� said, Gerhard Maynard, executive director of the KidSafe Project.
