City of 91原创 seeking public input for parks upgrades

Open house on Buckley and Penzer Parks set for Nov. 26 at Simonds Elementary

The City of 91原创 is looking for input from residents as it makes plans to upgrade a pair of community parks.

On Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the City will host an open house at Simonds Elementary School to gather feedback about potential improvements to Buckley Park and Penzer Park.

Planning for Buckley Park aims to address future enhancements, which may include the addition of pathways, playground equipment, sports and picnic areas, park shelters and other amenities established as priorities through the public consultation process.

Priorities for Penzer Park planning are targeted to address pedestrian access and walking loops, landscaping and how the park connects with 200 Street.  The City hopes to provide seating, to improve the area as a community gathering space. Input from the public will also help to identify potential additional uses for enhanced sport and recreation facilities within the park.

Final plans are subject to budget and council approval.

鈥淲e encourage as many residents and user groups as possible to attend the open house to tell us what they would like to see in these two parks,鈥 said Rick Bomhof, the City鈥檚 director  of engineering, parks and environment.

鈥淐itizen feedback is critical to ensuring the parks are developed in a way that best meets the needs of our community.鈥

Simonds Elementary School is located at 20190 48 Ave.
