91原创 Traffic Services has closed Springbrook Road (Highway 10) between Glover and 232 Street to continue an investigation into an earlier collision. It is expected to remain closed until 5:30 p.m. today (Thursday).
At approximately 11:30 a.m., an eastbound three-tonne truck towing a flat deck crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a westbound SUV. The driver of the SUV suffered injuries to his chest and was taken to hospital by Air Ambulance. Police believe the driver of the three-tonne truck may have suffered a medical event prior to the collision and he was transported to hospital for treatment.
ICARS (Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Service) and CVSE (Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement) are attending to assist 91原创 RCMP with the investigation.
It is anticipated the road closure could last until 5:30 p.m., said 91原创 RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks. Drivers are asked to plan for an alternate route through the area.
