Driver fined for hitting scooter in 91原创 City

A driver was ticketed for driving without consideration after hitting a scooter in 91原创 City on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

91原创 RCMP said the collision occurred on around 11:54 a.m. when a woman operating a motorized scooter, heading westbound along Fraser, was hit by a black 2005 Pontiac sedan making a right turn.

It was a low-speed collision that did not damage the car, but it was enough to knock the woman from the scooter.

She was transported to hospital for treatment of what was described in the police report as 鈥渕inor abrasions.鈥

An eyewitness, who asked not to be identified, said the woman remained conscious and the Pontiac driver stayed at the scene.

Under B.C. motor vehicle regulations, driving without consideration carries a maximum fine of $196 and six points, which adds a $360 annual premium to ICBC charges.
