A 鈥渢o do鈥 note with the caretaker of a marijuana grow-op in 91原创鈥檚 name on it was at the centre of a losing appeal in court on May 8.
Christina Marie Black had been convicted of production and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, after being arrested at a grow- op on a 91原创 property her fiance owned.
The trial included evidence of the police search warrant finding marijuana, equipment and a 鈥渢o do鈥 note left for Black in one of the outbuildings containing the grow-op.
Black was seen by officers leaving one of the buildings that housed a grow-op.
In appeal court, Black argued that the note shouldn鈥檛 have been accepted as circumstantial evidence because the note was addressed to 鈥淐hrissy.鈥 The judge took that to be Black.
Three judges of the B.C. Court of Appeal agreed the note was acceptable as evidence, and Black鈥檚 conviction was upheld.
