Carla Robin is running for a seat on 91原创 city council.
"91原创 is the best place to call home and has an exciting future. As a councillor, I will dedicate my efforts to the future of the City of 91原创 as articulated in the ongoing action plans, supporting its concept of 'The Place to Be'. I intend to roll up my sleeves and work on the things that need to be done to move the City forward.
"The urban rebranding of the City of 91原创 and the evolution of its image has resulted in the creation of numerous strategic plans which are ripe for implementation. I will dedicate my efforts to the implementation of those that will further the development in the City of new housing and commerce within the framework of the complex social and environmental challenges that must be addressed sooner rather than later."
Robin spent over 30 years in land development, construction and property management, and said that experience can be utilized "to assess and assist in the implementation of the City鈥檚 strategic and master plans. Moving forward with increased residential density and commercial activity in the City core areas will promote a vibrant 鈥榙owntown鈥 atmosphere. Concentrating on creating a true downtown core in the City of 91原创 will also assist in alleviating pressure on ALR development in adjacent communities."
She said there needs to be action on local and regional transportation issues, which she called "complicated and tough issues."
"I will strive to ensure that the 2014-2018 financial plan for the City will include an open and transparent dialogue with the community where needed. The City is fortunate to have significant revenue from the Cascades Casino. It is prudent to be prepared for the contingency should this be reduced or eliminated, issues that need to be addressed now."
The City boasts life-size horse statues from the public art project 鈥淗orsing Around 91原创,鈥 which she created to bring together the arts, agriculture and sports communities.
