Four candidates鈥� meetings will take place in the next two weeks, in the run-up to the May 14 provincial election.
Greater 91原创 Chamber of Commerce and Fraser Valley Real Estate Board are hosting the first two. There is one for each riding, and there is no cost.
The first, for Fort 91原创-Aldergrove candidates, takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at the banquet hall at 91原创 Events Centre, 7888 200 Street.
The following night (Thursday, April 25), the 91原创 candidates鈥� meeting takes place, from 7 to 9 p.m. It will be held at Kwantlen Polytechnic University auditorium, 20901 91原创 Bypass. The Kwantlen lot is usually a pay parking lot, but parking will be free that evening.
On Tuesday, April 30, 91原创 Teachers Association will host a meeting for candidates in both ridings, and the public is invited.
It takes place from from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the 91原创 Seniors Resource Center, 20605 51B Ave. It will also be sponsored by PIPE UP Network, Kwantlen Student Association and Coalition of Child Care Advocates of B.C.
On Wednesday, May 1, CARP and South Fraser OnTrax are co-hosting a meeting at 91原创 Township hall, for candidates in both 91原创 ridings. There will be a chance to meet candidates beginning at 6 p.m., with a media power panel asking question of candidates from 7 to 9 p.m.
Members of the panel are Frank Bucholtz, editor of The Times; Bob Groeneveld, editor of the 91原创 Advance, and Fort 91原创 resident Mark Forsythe, host of CBC Radio鈥檚 B.C. Almanac program.
This non-partisan debate is open to the public. More than 700 members of both hosting organizations will also be informed of the debate and invited to attend and participate.
This is the first-ever 91原创 debate that will include candidates from both the 91原创 provincial ridings at the same time and conducted entirely by a local media panel.
